In my two previous articles What is ClickBank? and ClickBank for Newbies I wrote about how one of the most profitable ways to make money online is by selling other people’s products through affiliate marketing. I also explained why the fasted and easiest way to get started is by becoming a ClickBank affiliate.
However, one of the things that confuses many ClickBank novices and keeps them from getting started is being overwhelmed with trying to decide which of the 10,000+ ClickBank products they should promote. In this article I am going to describe a good way to pick a product, a better way, and what I think is the best way.
A Good Way
One way to select a product, and the way most people do it, is on the ClickBank website.
First log in, and then click on the “marketplace” tab at the top. There you will see a list of about two dozen different categories of products, such as computers, home and garden, cooking, health and fitness, travel, investing, etc. If you are not sure what type of product you are interested in promoting, you should take some time to explore the different categories. It’s fun and you are sure to come up with some good ideas. In the end though, it’s best to choose a category that interests you and that you know something about.
Once you have chosen a category, click on that category. There you will see all of the products listed in that category. You can sort them any number of ways, including by product popularity, gravity (a relative value ClickBank gives the product which measures the number of affiliates making money with that product) and average amount earned per sale. You can also stipulate that the search include only products with certain attributes, such as specific languages, or one time vs. recurrent billing commissions.
Each product will be shown with a short description of the product, and its sales statistics. There will also be a link to the vendor’s promotion page which your prospects will be taken to when they click on the link you provide them.
Once you have chosen a product that you want to promote, simply click on the “promote” link to get your unique hoplink. You can also bookmark the product to compare with other products you are considering.
A Better Way
A better way to evaluate potentially profitable ClickBank products is to use a free website I discovered called CBengine. Cbengine is a website not affiliated with ClickBank, but dedicated to providing research on ClickBank products for ClickBank affiliates. The amount of information provided is enormous.
A simple way to get started picking your first product is to:
1. Go to the “Find Products” bar on the right side of the page.
2. If you have a specific category that you are interested in, enter that category in the “Top Category” field. If you don’t have a specific category in mind, leave in the default “All”.
3. In the “Ranked In” field, choose “Top 10”.
4. Hit “Search”.
You will then be provided a list of the top 10 products in every category and sub-category you have chosen, along with tons of information and statistics about that product. You can even generate your ClickBank hoplink there, so with Cbengine there is really no reason to go to the ClickBank website to find products.
The Best Way
CBengine also offers a paid “Pro Membership” for $39.95 per year. This upgrade makes available additional features such as a “Clickbank Insiders” section which uses a predictive analysis formula to recommend brand new products, including those ‘underexposed and climbing’ as well as ‘underexposed and gaining’. I hesitate to even mention this, since the free site is loaded with so many cool ways to find and get information on ClickBank products that you may find the free version is all you will ever need.
Still, the reason I’m mentioning it is that as I write this post they are having a special offer of a lifetime Pro Membership for only $37. I would recommend that you at least check it out, and if you are very serious about making money as a ClickBank affiliate the upgrade is probably worthwhile.
In Summary…
Check out the CBengine website. It’s an even better way to find ClickBank products to promote than ClickBank’s own website.
To your prosperity,
